This is the eighth in a series of posts on how I set up a Raspberry Pi as a Kodi box running OSMC.

In this post I describe how to configure Kodi to add additional repos to give you a wider choice of add-ons over those that come as standard with Kodi.

A repo is basically a repository of add-ons that can be installed onto Kodi. When you install a repo the additional add-ons contained in the repo are available for you to select and install as you would one of the standard Kodi add-ons.

A repo is usually provided as a .zip file which is located at a given url; Kodi allows you to download and install this .zip file. /ford-mustang-font-download.html.

From your PC connect to the Pi so you have Kodi running in a window (use this Quick Ref guide if you can’t remember the process from Step 4).

For installing repo’s I switch to the Confluence skin; it’s easier to navigate Confluence with the mouse.

Switch to the Confluence skin as follows:

  1. From the OSMC main menu click Settings
  2. Click Appearance
  3. Highlight Skin then OMSC and click on it
  4. Click on Confluence and Yes when prompted
  5. Click on the Home button in the bottom right hand corner

Install the repo as follows:

  1. From the home menu highlight (but don’t click) System then click File Manager
  2. Click Add source (on the left) then press the Enter key
  3. Click on the field containing the text
  4. Type in the repo’s url as http://your-repos-url then click Done
  5. In the field Enter a name for this media source type _YourRepo then click Done
  6. Click OK then click the Home button at the bottom on the screen
  7. On the home screen click System (note this time you’re clicking on it not highlighting as in step 1)
  8. Click Add-ons
  9. Click Install from zip file (if you see a list of add-ons instead click the back arrow button twice and you should see the Install from zip file option).
  10. Click _YourRepor
  11. Select Start Here
  12. Select plugin.program.addoninstaller-1.2.5.zip and wait for the install to complete
  13. Click the Home button in the bottom right hand corner
